Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
1. Who we are
The controller of personal data described in this policy is Marek Pěnička, ID no. (IČO) 72040556, operating as Mara Games (mara-games.com). Contact: info@marekpenicka.cz
2. Scope and app-specific information
This policy applies to all apps, games and websites published by Mara Games ("apps"). Not every app does everything described below. What a particular app collects, whether it contains ads, offers purchases, asks for an account or name, or uses the microphone, camera or sensors, is shown in its store listing (the Data safety section on Google Play, the App Privacy section on the App Store), in the permission and consent prompts, and in the app itself.
3. The short version
- We do not sell your personal data.
- What an app processes only on your device (for example recordings, measurements, saved progress and settings) is not sent to us.
- Where an app offers optional data collection, such as usage statistics or personalised ads, it explains this in the app and, where the law requires it, starts only with your consent.
- You can ask us to delete the data we hold. See section 10.
4. What data we process
4.1 Data that stays on your device. Content you create or that an app measures or records (for example recordings made with the microphone or camera, sensor readings, saved progress and settings) is stored and processed locally. We have no access to it unless you choose to export or share it (for example through the system share function or by e-mail). Apps that use the microphone, camera or other sensors do so only after you grant the permission to the operating system and, where applicable, start the relevant function.
4.2 Data you send us or enter in an app. If you contact us, we receive your e-mail address and the content of your message. Some apps ask for a player name, which is stored on our server and shown publicly to other players in a ranking until you ask us to delete it. The app tells you when it asks for a name.
4.3 Data collected automatically. Depending on the app, this may include: device model, operating system version, app version, language, hardware capabilities, an approximate region derived from your IP address, a randomly generated installation identifier or an advertising identifier, session information, app usage events, and diagnostic or crash information. We do not use this data to identify you personally. An installation identifier is pseudonymous, not anonymous: events from one installation can be linked together.
4.4 Purchases. Payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive your card or bank details. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made so that we can unlock the content.
4.5 Advertising. Some of our apps contain ads (stated in the store listing). They work with advertising partners, who may process an advertising identifier, IP address and device information to deliver and measure ads. Where the law requires consent, personalised advertising is used only with your consent.
4.6 Websites. Our website mara-games.com uses Google Analytics to measure traffic (for example pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type). It uses cookies or similar technologies and, where the law requires, only with your consent given in the cookie notice on the website. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Our hosting provider may keep technical server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security and operation.
5. Why we process data and on what legal basis
- Providing the app (including a ranking, if the app has one) and unlocking purchased content: Legal basis: Performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b)
- Optional usage statistics and diagnostics where an app asks for your consent: Legal basis: Consent, Art. 6(1)(a)
- Personalised advertising and website analytics where consent is required: Legal basis: Consent, Art. 6(1)(a)
- Replying to support requests, fixing errors, keeping apps secure and preventing abuse: Legal basis: Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)
- Accounting and tax obligations: Legal basis: Legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)
6. Consent and your choices
- Where an app or website asks for consent, you can change your decision at any time (in the app, for example in Settings, in the cookie notice, or in your device settings). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing done before.
- Permissions such as microphone or camera are requested by the operating system. You can revoke them at any time in the system settings.
- You can reset or limit the advertising identifier in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
7. Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent personal data. We use service providers who process data on our behalf or provide the platforms through which our apps work:
- Google (Google Play, Google Play Billing, Google Analytics on our website) and Apple (App Store, in-app purchases);
- Unity Technologies (game engine services such as analytics and in-app purchasing). Under Unity's Data Processing Addendum, Unity acts as our processor for some services and as an independent controller for others, for example advertising through Unity LevelPlay and transaction and billing data in in-app purchasing; each is governed by Unity's privacy policy;
- Advertising partners in apps that contain ads: Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) and the advertising networks mediated through it;
- Authorities, when required by law.
Each provider has its own privacy policy; for example, Unity: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy.
8. International transfers
Some providers, such as Unity and Google, process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, transfers are protected by safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
9. How long we keep data
- Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Note that some operating systems back up app settings and may restore them after reinstalling.
- Usage events sent to our analytics provider (Unity Analytics) are kept for up to 13 months and then deleted automatically; aggregated metrics and installation profiles are kept until deletion is requested (see section 10).
- Player names in rankings: until you ask us to delete them or the ranking is discontinued.
- Website analytics: for the period set in our Google Analytics account (up to 14 months).
- E-mails to support: only as long as needed to resolve your request, unless the law requires longer retention.
- Accounting records: for the period required by law.
10. Your rights and how to delete data
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. Residents of some US states (for example California) have similar rights, including the right to know what is collected and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.
How to use your rights:
- In the app, where it offers this (usually in Settings, for example "Delete sent data").
- By e-mail to info@marekpenicka.cz, stating the app and platform. For a player name in a ranking, include the name. Our apps usually do not collect your name or e-mail address, so we can find other data linked to a random installation identifier only if you give it to us. Where an identifier is visible in the app, include it in your message. Where it is not, data tied only to an identifier can be deleted only from within the app.
- A step-by-step description is at https://mara-games.com/games/data-deletion.
11. Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age required by local law). If we learn that we hold data of a child, we delete it. Some apps are intended only for adults; this is stated in the store listing.
12. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for data sent from our apps to analytics and store services, and we apply reasonable measures to protect data. No transmission or storage is completely secure.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with a new date, and for significant changes we also inform you in the app or on the website.
